Online Japanese course 2 (2), fall 2025

Dates and times: Sep. 30th, 2025 - Jan 15th, 2025 Tuesdays and Thursdays 19:00~20:00 (Finland time). No classes on weeks 42 (Oct. 13th-19th), 52 (Dec. 22nd-28th) and 1 (Dec. 29th, 2025-Jan 4th, 2026) due to holidays. 

Lecturer: Japanese Government Certified Japanese language instructor and former professor of US universities Konishi Sensei, a Japanese native, living in Japan, has many years of experiences both in traditional teaching in very competitive and well known US universities and also in online teaching as university programs from Japan.

Required equipment: A computer with a camera, headset with a microphone and internet connection. This course will be provided using an online conference program Zoom, but students will not be required to create an own account.  Instructions will be sent some days before the course starts.

Prerequisite: Completion of Online Japanese course , Genki I & Genki II (An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese up to Ch. 18 or equivalent. ) .

Content and objectives: An intensive online Japanese language course taught in Japanese and English live from Japan. The course includes a lot of photos, videos and articles of real time materials about Japan and its culture.

The goal of study: After finishing this intensive course, students will be able to obtain the basic language skills to survive in Japan. Students will be able to recognize 300 Kanji letters. Mandatory in order to go to upper level.

Textbook: Genki II Chapter 19~）Published by the Japan times.  ISBN 978-4-7890-1732-9. Electronic version of textbooks are available but please do not buy paperbacks.
