Ready to move beyond the basics? Swedish 7 introduces more complex grammar and vocabulary so you can express opinions, describe lifestyles, and engage in meaningful conversations. This course is ideal for learners who have completed Swedish 6 or have equivalent knowledge.

Objectives and content: Course 7 covers chapters 1-4 in the book (Rivstart B1+B2) and corresponds to level B1.2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Having finished Swedish 7 the student will be able to:
talk about leisure activities, friendships, lifestyle, and animals
engage in conversations about hobbies, personal interests and social life
discuss opinions on lifestyle choices and animal welfare using appropriate grammar structures
use adjectives and adverbs to describe people, activities, and surroundings
apply pronouns correctly in different contexts
form sentences with correct word order in both main and subordinate clauses
conjugate verbs in different tenses
write emails and argumentative texts on relevant topics

Book: Lindemalm-Scherrer: Rivstart B1+B2 (Natur & Kultur), 2025 (Third edition), textbook and exercise book, chapters 1-4
Grading: pass/fail
The course is worth 1 study credit (Oma Opintopolku/My Studyinfo) and comprices 29 h, a test of about 1 h + about 5 h independent work. Instructions for obtaining study credits will be provided prior to the start of the course.
