Online Japanese course 5-1 (4), spring 2024

Lecturer in the all online courses: Japanese Government Certified Japanese language instructor and former professor of US universities Setsuko Konishi, a Japanese native, living in Japan, has many years of experiences both in traditional teaching in very competitive and well known US universities and also in online teaching as university programs from Japan.

Required equipment for the all online courses: A computer with a camera, headset with a microphone and internet connection. This course will be provided using an online conference program Zoom, but students will not be required to create an own account. Instructions will be sent some days before the course starts.

Dates and times: Feb. 27th - May 23rd, 2024 Tuesdays and Thursdays 18:00–19:00 (Finland time). 

Prerequisite: Completion of Online Japanese course 5-1 (3) (fall 2023) or equivalent (completion through Tobira Chapter 8)

Content and objectives: An intensive online Japanese language course is taught in Japanese and English live from Japan. The course includes a lot of photos, videos and articles of real time materials about Japan and its culture. The goal of Course 5 is passing the N3 Proficiency test.

The goal of study: A continuation course after Online Japanese: course 5-1-3. Tobira is a textbook for intermediate level. Grammar, Reading comprehension, Kanji.

Textbook: Tobira Gateway to Advanced Japanese Learning through Content and Multimedia (Chapter 9), ISBN 978-4--87424-447-0 C0081, Printed in Japan Kurosio Publisher (via online bookstores e.g. Amazon, Adlibris, Verasia). Electronic version of the text book is usable but do not purchase paper back.
