Aika: 2.–19.6. ma–to klo 9.00–12.45 

Sisältö: Suomen kielen äänteet ja aakkoset. Lukusanat, kellonajat, viikonpäivät, kuukaudet, vuodenajat ja sää. Asiointia kioskilla, kaupassa ja toimistossa. Itsestä, perheestä, ulkonäöstä ja päivän kulusta kertominen. Verbityypit ja verbien persoonataivutus, yksikön nominatiivi, genetiivi ja partitiivi, omistusrakenne. Vokaaliharmonia, nominien astevaihtelu.

Suoritustapa: Säännöllinen osallistuminen opetuskerroille (50%) ja hyväksytysti suoritettu loppukoe. Kurssiin kuuluu yksi uusintakoemahdollisuus ja todistus, joka on saatavilla tilauksesta.

Edeltävät opinnot: Osallistuminen ei edellytä aiempia suomen kielen opintoja (Osallistujien tulee hallita länsimaiset aakkoset.)

Kurssin kesto ja laajuus: 4,33 oppituntia päivässä, yhteensä 52 tuntia.  Kurssin 52 kontaktiopetustunnin lisäksi itsenäisen työskentelyn (kotitehtävien ja kokeeseen valmistautumisen) määräksi arvioidaan 54,8 tuntia. Viikossa kontaktiopetusta on 17,33 oppituntia ja itsenäisen työskentelyn määräksi arvioidaan viikossa 18,27 oppituntia.  Kurssin arvioitu opiskelutuntien määrä vastaa 4 opintopistettä.

Content: The course covers the following topics and grammar: the Finnish alphabet and phonemes, numerals, the clock, days of the week, months, seasons and the weather. You will learn to tell about yourself, your family and your appearance and about your day. You will also learn how to communicate in different everyday situations (e.g. at a kiosk, in a store and in an office). Verb types and conjugations, the nominative, genitive and partitive in the singular. The possessive construction. Vowel harmony and consonant gradation and other changes in the stems of nominatives.

Starting level: 0

Target level: A1.1.

Assessment method: Regular participation in lessons (50%) and a successfully completed final exam. The course includes one re-examination opportunity and certificate which is available upon request.

Previous studies: No previous studies in Finnish are required but the participants must be familiar with the Western alphabet.

Course duration and credits: The course duration is 4.33 contact hours per day, totaling 52 hours. In addition to the 52 contact hours of the course, the estimated amount of independent work (homework and exam preparation) is 54.8 hours. Each week, there are 17.33 contact hours, and the estimated amount of independent work per week is 18.27 hours. The estimated amount of study hours for the course is equivalent to 4 ECTS credits.
