Kurssin kuvaus: A couple of short reports from around the world per lesson: good news and bad plus news headlines (what do they mean), recurring formal words and expressions worth knowing, how to read news – you don’t have to know every word, different styles of writing news, are they being serious (the tabloid press uses puns a lot and sometimes language which is not considered correct and polite – far from it.
The aim is to widen students’ vocabulary and encourage them to talk, and to read more authentic material, ie, besides study books with glossaries
